Project Overview: There are few special projects that come around once in a great while - the opportunity to work with the mayor of your home city is one such occasion. When the chance to collaborate with the Mayor of Ontario presented itself, I was immediately sold. The project was to design and produce a billboard campaign to highlight the mayor's key initiatives, including urban development, community safety, and environmental sustainability. My role as a freelance graphic designer was to craft a message that was both visually compelling and informative, ensuring it resonated with the diverse population of Ontario. I utilized local landmarks as design elements and chose a color palette that reflected the city's vibrant community spirit.
Outcome and Impact: The billboard campaign was strategically placed across key locations in Ontario, ensuring maximum freeway drivers visibility. The feedback from the public was overwhelmingly positive, with many residents expressing appreciation for the clear communication of the mayor's vision for the city. There was a noted increase in community engagement with the mayor's office, particularly around the highlighted initiatives. The campaign was also credited with boosting the mayor's public approval ratings, as it effectively showcased his commitment to the city's progress. This project not only allowed me to contribute to my community but also demonstrated my ability as a freelancer to handle high-profile, impactful projects that influence public perception and civic involvement.
